HP Slate to undercut Apple iPad on price; MS working on Courier

Hewlett Packard has released little detail on its Slate tablet device. Apparently this is for good reason. According to the WSJ, HP was waiting to see what Apple had in store with the iPad, before tweaking features and price-points. Its sources suggest that HP executives will be meeting in the US and Taiwan over the next few weeks to discuss these exact issues.
It sounds like 3G will be one of the Slate’s features as the company is considering selling a version of the Slate that has a similar display size and features as the iPad (including a 3G connection) for a price less than Apple is charging ($629).
Other companies such as Acer, Dell and Sony have also been keeping a close eye on the Apple iPad as they look to rollout their own tablets. The paper’s sources go on to say that Microsoft is continuing to work on its secret Courier project (two-screen tablet), although they have little details on the device itself. Netbookchoice

Informative post regarding HP Slate. HP Slate will be a fully functional Windows 7 tablet PC other features include three USB ports, a 1.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi (b/g), Bluetooth, VGA and Ethernet all this is very useful..HP will apparently set the Slate's price just below Apple's 3G iPad, although the company hasn't mentioned when the Slate will be ready exactly.
